  The redeveloped side of the tracks, the Skytree standing over the rooftops — standing bars, cheap yakiniku and izakaya tucked among the malls. Touting is banned outright around this station: ignore anyone who approaches you, and check the otoshi before you sit.

• Tower lit Tokyo Skytree view東京スカイツリー

  One stop on the Hanzomon line, or twenty-five minutes on foot — the tower cycles through its colours night by night, and Kinshi Park five minutes from the north exit gives you the free version of the view.

No opening hours here — small bars keep their own, and many close without notice. Check before you set off, and ignore anyone on the street offering to take you somewhere.
